Chicken Lettuce Wraps


  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha
  • 1 (8-ounce) can water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/2 cup matchstick carrots
  • 1/2 cup green onions diced, and more for topping
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • Cilantro, optional garnish
  • 1 head butter or bib lettuce



    • In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and ground chicken. Cook, stirring often to break up the clumps of meat as it browns, until no pink remains in your chunks of chicken.
    • Sprinkle the garlic into the skillet and cook for 1 more minute. Then add hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar and sriracha to the cooked chicken mixture; simmer until heated through.
    • Add the water chestnuts, carrots and green onions to the dish along with some ginger. Cook for two minutes before turning off the heat.
    • Serve wrapped in lettuce, with extra green onions and cilantro for garnish.
